The RH DRT goes beyond simple subtractive or additive models, utilizing a sophisticated hybrid approach. It acts as a physical light-inspired, 3-dimensional rendering of colors that naturally gives the image organic properties. When you increase saturation, shadows get denser. Highlights roll off gracefully. It’s inspired by film, powered by physics, and completely its own thing.
Set the foundation of your look using purely physical parameters. Adjust overall exposure and saturation, shift where middle gray sits, and push/pull contrast while maintaining perfect spectral integrity. The zero-is-home design means defaults always yield a calibrated reference rendering.



A handcrafted, dynamic Quintic S-Curve with C1 continuity controls the boundaries. Highlights roll off gently toward neutral white, preventing neon blow-outs, while the deepest shadows gracefully desaturate to avoid chromatic noise, maintaining perfect mathematical smoothness everywhere.

Traditional split toning operates in RGB space. The RH DRT operates directly on the dye concentrations. Pushing red into the shadows decreases Cyan density while proportionally increasing Magenta and Yellow, shifting color smoothly while preserving luminance.



In real film, dye layers don't form in isolation. The DRT features our own implementation of spectral crosstalk, allowing you to sculpt inter-layer interactions. Focus the interaction between Cyan and Magenta to specific tonal zones to reshape your vectorscope organically.

Modeled after lab printer lights, these sliders adjust Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow dye densities independently. Operating in the spectral domain means dialing up "Printer Yellow" correctly cross-contaminates with other layers, producing film-accurate color shifts.
